Boise September 17, 2026

Boise inspired last night. An intergenerational conversation took place around money that opened everyones eyes. I am grateful for Jennifer Deroin and Denise Dunlap for hosting a beautiful event at The Arid Club. The champagne was flowing and so was the wisdom.

We shared about the lack of money conversations we grew up with, taking advice from a trusted neighbor, what happens after a liquidity event, and our curiositites in pursuing commercial real estate. Some women started investing in the stock market in thier 50’s and others were negotiating equity deals in their 20’s. The power was in our ability experience share and lean on each other, not having to be each other.

If you were in the room last night here’s what you would have heard:

“We live on the balance sheet. We don’t live on the income statement, and that means we put our money in assets, assets that appreciate.”

“I took five thousand dollars. My sister invested five thousand dollars. We borrowed five thousand dollars from my dad, and started a business on fifteen thousand dollars. We made a two thousand dollar profit in year one. I’m just about to sell the company for thirty three million.”

“When I was nineteen years old. I I had I worked two jobs through high school and I took all the money and I bought eighty acres and two homes.”

We were Wealth Expanders for each other last night. In just 30 days 120 Wealth Expanders will gather in San Francisco. Executives, founders, board directors, philanthropists, investors. We will share investing and wealth building opportunities across asset classes and transitions in life. Maybe your new wealth building opportunity is a creative way to look at taxes, or landing a board role or leaving corporate and starting a company.

I look forward to seeing you at the Wealth Catalyst Summit.
